If it’s one thing I love about life’s pleasures is a good,delicious cocktail but not only that, the presentation enhances the experience indefinitely. Whether it’s rum (favorite spirit) or bourbon, it’s all about the mixture and how it’s prepare. Anyone can “mix” a drink but a cocktail takes technique. A garnished cocktail is a stylish cocktail but not just any. Since we are in lingering in the joint of Fall and Winter, I think it’s time to explore some cozy cocktails to warm the soul. Here are a few selections I think you may enjoy.
Toby’s Tody
1 oz cognac
1 oz aged rum
1 oz lemon juice
1 oz simple syrup
- Martinez
2 oz gin
75 oz sweet vermouth
1 bar spoon of maraschino
1 dash orange bitters
Applejack Sazarac
Brown Sugar Cinnamon Bourbon
1.5 ounces bourbon
2 tablespoons brown sugar cinnamon simple syrup (ingredients and instructions below)
honey and brown sugar for glass rim
splash of club soda
3 dashes citrus bitters
ice
Aged Eggnog Cocktail
12 large very fresh, high-quality eggs
1 3/4 cups unrefined cane sugar
1 quart (4 cups) whole milk
2 cups heavy cream divided
3 cups Irish whisky or Bourbon
2 cups dark rum
3/4 cup Cognac or Armagnac or Spiced Pear Liqueur
Pinch Sea salt
ice for serving
Freshly grated nutmeg for garnish
