Ok…This is my last recap of New York Fashion Week…and finally we can focus on me! The NYFW Wardrobe Series will now begin. I had noticed I was wearing a specific theme without being aware of it not till after a friend of mines brought it to my attention. It became a black and white theme and I decided ehh.. why not? I’ll just stick with it.
NYFW Outfit Day 1: This was the only outfit that included a splash of bold blue. I love a tailored vest that gives off a sophisticated look but still maintains it’s edginess. The top was actually a dress that I wore as a blouse, layered with a vest, paired with black leggings and thigh high boots. For accessories, I kept it classy with a nice set of pearls.
NYFW Outfit Day 2: My second look focused on prints and patterns. Never afraid to mix it up cause it makes a bold statement. A nice faux fur elevates any outfit creating a classy chic look. Throw on a pair of black booties and you’re good to go.
NYFW Outfit Day 3: My third look was channeling my inner “smooth criminal”. All black, err-thang! Always sophisticated and never goes out of style. My base top was a cami then layered with a striped tuxedo vest paired with leggings and black booties. The hat definitely topped the look off. I also purposely opted for a navy blue clutch just to squeeze some tonal color in there.
NYFW Outfit Day 4: My fourth look is actually one of my favorite dresses. It’s so striped…with lots of leg showing and had to make a bad ass look with a statement piece such as the moto jacket. Instead of going with the typical heels, I opted for casual boots to create a more sportive look. I love the layering of necklaces but they have to be delicate pieces so it’s not overpowering.
NYFW Outfit Day 5: Last but not least, the flirty skater! I switch it up using solid black vest and white blouse and combined it with a black and white houndstooth printed skirt. The peplum vest and skirt created a perfection of girly, flirty and edgy. Oh yeah, my shades completely matched the skirt and the black hat once again, finished the look.
I just realized two things. One, I wore a damn vest in almost every look and two, I shop in Charlotte Russe…a lot. So on that note, which was your favorite NYFW look?
