Happy Wednesday! I hope you are enjoying your week so far and making early preparations for this coming holiday. Honestly, I am not preparing for anything because one, I will not be traveling, two, I will not be cooking and three, my only job is to eat, eat again and eat some more. It’s just that convenient! LOL. Besides thinking about food, I finally had the chance to create a post of my looks that I wore during New York Fashion Week. I know it’s kind of late but I really wanted to share my looks with you guys so here goes…
Day 1. I wore a black Guess dress which I have worn on several occasions but it is definitely my favorite black dress. The flare of the bottom and the mesh cut outs around the mid-section and right above the chest area for aesthetics are my favorite features of the dress. I layered it with a 2 Cute white blazer for accent and throwing on a silver statement necklace took this look to another level. I was really surprise how classy my outfit looked. I felt like a rich girl at brunch on a Sunday afternoon…which I was at by the way, starting Fashion Week adventures off with a bang. Instead of wearing the plain ol’ black heels with a black dress, I decided to go with Joyce Leslie nude pumps for a change in the flow of having an identical neutral color. Color-block clutch; Aldo. I wore this outfit to a three in one day engagement; brunch, style festival and a Fashion Week show at an art venue.
Day 2. I can’t describe how much I loved this look! It’s playful, compellingly bold and monochrome mod. I paired a Forever 21 black and white checkered blouse with a pair of Love Culture royal blue high waist shorts for that splash of color and accenting of the outfit. The shorts had these cool six gold uniformed buttons along the front for aesthetics. I, then layered the lovely palette with a Nasty Gal white cape blazer. The blouse and blazer cuts a chic silhouette creating a tailored, color-blocked monochrome mix. I slipped on some Mandee black pumps for a luxe touch. Box satchel bag; Love Culture. I wore this outfit to Nolcha Fashion Week.
Day 3. The one and only romper that I possess has come out of the closet once again. I curated this look as a transitional set from a day to-night look. The coral romper; Guess by Marciano was layered by an Armani Exchange color-blocked and dual textured blazer. I love coral tones, so this romper stands out on its own accord. The blazer help created a captivating mix of luxe vibrancy. My favorite feature of the blazer are the faux leather arms which creates dimension against the romper. I slipped a pair of Guess gold studded sandals to complete my look. Quilted crossbody/handbag; Forever 21. I wore this outfit to a designer showroom then to EMERGE Fashion Show.
Final Day 4. Last but not least, the Nasty Gal bodycon body suit paired with Forever 21 faux leather leggings. I, then layered my bodysuit with a Forever 21 striped blazer. This bodycon is awesome because of the edgy detailing in the back. It almost reminds me of a stray jacket or being a bit kinky…lol but either way it gives a dangerous feel. I dared to play around with these particular prints this time around. I know they say never wear horizontal and vertical stripes together but since I felt a little daring, I went against the grain and did it. I loved how it came out and I can’t complain. I added a pair of Jeffrey Campbell retro boots. I love these boots because they always add a bit of attitude to everything I wear with them. An old school style with a modern twist. Another daring punch that I did in this look was mix and match gold and silver accessories. This outfit was all about risks and edge, i must say. Gold studded cobalt blue clutch; Michael Kors. I wore this outfit to a fashion show held at a hotel.
I hoped you enjoyed my of late NYFW outfits. Which look did you like the most? Thank you for reading and happy styling!
