As September 7th adventures continued, I was cordially invited to see Mischka Velasco fifth NYFW runway show; “Secret Sunday” at the Last Rites Tattoo Theater in Uptown Manhattan. Mischka Velasco is an independent New York based designer specializing in women’s and men’s fashion. Everything is locally created, designed and produced locally in her Soho studio.
Mischka’s designs denotes an unconventional facet of fashion. She uses unique fabrics and architectural designs that stand by far from the mainstream way of most designers. She can cultivate an unusual look or design out of something ordinary piece of clothing, often improvising with materials at hand. Her latest women’s collection renders confidence, elegance and a gratuity of sophistication while demonstrating a creative structuring in the clothing.
Her latest men’s collection using neutral palettes, for a turn of colorful blots and unusual accessory elements with intentional design placement. It was a welcoming and complementary show. I am in awaiting for the next NYFW collection in February. Until then!
