Once again, attended the Nolcha Shows as I do every year for New York Fashion Week. There are always three shows at different time slots with several different designers. I watched the first two shows but in this last post, I will only be talking about my favorite FW17 collections out of the many I saw.
SON Collection
This collection graced the runway with beautiful soft silhouettes, bright colors and vibrant patterns. Some garments incorporated architectural shapes and angles.
Just In Case
Another collection that makes a full manipulation on angles and fabric shaping. Sculpted silhouettes and high contrast combination of over-sized embroidery and paneling.
Chelbe
The third collection commands sleeking tailoring and embraces a polished sensibility in tonal hues, A dramatic edge was added by mixing simplicity and some unexpected cuts for a creative look.
Lavanya Coodly
The last collection was enveloped in textural fabrics and statement layer adding dimension and character. There is an evening decadence with whimsical textures; lace, sequins and embroidery. Layering looks have wintry palettes with stylish tailored silhouettes and a splash of colorful prints.
I hope you have enjoyed this series of NYFW recaps. Now that I can say “IT’S A WRAP!”, is it time to say so long to Fashion Week until September. Thank you for reading and happy styling!
