I am having a pretty good time in the month of August because I have relatives visiting. I haven’t seen them in years and I am so happy to be spending time with them. Today, I am wearing a polka dot blouse and denim. I have one other polka dot/square and triangle blouse but that suddenly went missing for a few years now. I absolutely have no idea where it could be because it’s nowhere in my closet. Anyways, I never used to like the polka dot print but over the years, it grew on me inevitably. I love the preppy element of the bow tie that adds some personality to the blouse. I also been wanting to invest in more denim but I am quite particular in selection. This is probably the closest I have done to a full denim monochrome.

I paired my blouse with a pair of basic light blue jeans and layered the top with an architectural vest with zippers and studded aesthetics. It added a little edge and hardness to my look. Naturally, I paired this look with my first brand new pair of mules. I decided to give the mule trend a try and it’s not bad at all. It definitely makes an outfit chic. I love the dual textures on the mules which gives it more dimension. Lastly, I finished my look with a quilted cream clutch, mirror reflective sunnies and a delicate set of stacked rings. Not bad huh?

Summer is here right? I am not sure. New York weather is unpredictable, for some time now.  One day it’s warm and the next day you are out in the cold. Whatever. I simply don’t know what else to tell you except, if you are not a New Yorker, you better come ready for the weather. Meanwhile, I was basking in the sun on this lovely bench…and strolling the highline.

One of my favorite colors is royal blue and I become very captivated when I see this particular shade of blue. I think it’s better than your average blues. It almost looks as if I was going for a monochromatic blue outfit. Which I wasn’t. Honestly, I didn’t event notice that until after I started writing this post. Remember, that show “Blues Clues?” That name just randomly popped up in my head. If you never heard of the show, it’s a kids show that used to come on Nickelodeon. Just google it. Soooo… I love fun prints and  I always like to pair them with solid colors, whether, bold or tonal. I paired my top with one of my favorite blazers and matched it with some cut out jeans. Cut out, ripped, distressed, whatever you want to call it, always mix well with almost every trend. It adds a functional fun and edginess to your look. I threw on some loafers, grabbed my earth tone tote bad and topped it off with my royal blue hat.

Mmmm, yes, the delicate; pearls, necklaces, rings and all that good stuff to keep it a bit elegant with a pair of well rounded sunglasses. It’s something about round shades and when I find out what that is, I will let you know. Whenever that is…LOL

Strolling the highline is totallyy worth it. I hope you can try it one day, if you haven’t already done so. I would love to know your thoughts. What did you think of this look and comment below! Thank you for reading and Happy Styling!
