NOLCHA Fashion Week Recap; “Ones to Watch”

Last month, during New York Fashion Week, I attended NOLCHA Fashion Week to see the “Ones to Watch” collections for F/W 2015.  Four yet exceptional designers pierced the runways with their amazing and creative designs. Ranging from elegant, effortless, rich textures with tailored structuring to edgy basics, polish streamlines and modern angular textiles.

Charles & Ron

The first designs focused on deep colors, prints, patterns, elegance with flowing luxe silhouettes. I enjoyed this collection because it was practical, classy, modern and a fresh alternative to the normal dress. Effortless elegance and chic edge pervades this Fall/Winter 2015 runway collection.

Haute Athletics

The second collection focused on sportswear; sport chic silhouettes with variations of fabrics, mild bold colors and simple separates. My favorite sport set were the black leather track tights with the minimal white lining detailing. It was the only piece that completely differed from the rest due to its non-traditional spin on the regular sport tights.

Mitsou Ly

The third collection focused on a mix of tonal hues, color-blocking, a balance of ethereal streamlines while embracing a crisp, polish and refined edge.  I enjoyed noticing the color dimension and placement, the sculptural structuring and the subtle romanticism it evoked.

Yvette Hass

The last and final set of designs (which was my favorite) focused on tailored edgy basics, embroideries, dimension, textures and femme fatale pairings. This collection demonstrated the use of blended textures, cool cutouts, taking classics in a new direction with tough edged silhouettes in luxe, textural fabrications. I would wear every piece in this collection.

Which was your favorite collection? Till next New York fashion week. Thank you for reading!
