Recap: NYFW Outfits for SS’18

As you know, Fashion Week is always hectic and this season was no different. It felt extra crazy for me and I knew the reason. I made the mistake of over booking myself with too many shows and presentations. I assumed they were going to start on their respective times and there would be no hassle to get to the next show. But boy, was I wrong! I ended up missing several shows because earlier ones I attended didn’t start on time. I’ve learned my lesson and next time will be hassle free. This is going to sound crazy but during New York Fashion Week, I felt like I had no clothes to wear! I pretty much had to get creative with what I had and it turned out pretty good. So keep scrolling to see a recap of NYFW outfits I wore for SS’18.

DAY 1

To kick off this season, I wore this black and white animal printed dress with a pair of jeans. I tied a knot on the front to make it more interesting and layered the dress with a two-tone jacket to add some texture. This edgy, urban look was perfect to start the week with.

DAY 2

This was one of my favorite outfits. It was all about stripes. Pairing an off the shoulder top with some trousers of a slightly variation of stripes for a full monochromatic look. Since I wanted to keep the cooler side of things, I didn’t hesitate to add some light blue into the mix.

DAY 3

Sometimes, simplicity is best and that is exactly what I went for with this look. A top with sequins details paired with satin leggings and layered with a sleeveless white blazer and a velvet-like jacket. When you think about it, this outfit has variety of textures but yet it looks so simple!

DAY 4

Another one of my favorite looks I wore to the JOOBI presentation. No prints or patterns this time but I love the edgy yet classy over-sized menswear inspired look. A delicate silk cami and a boyfriend jacket paired with wide leg trousers and loafers. Since everything was of a solid palette, this was the perfect moment to throw in a texture purse for a touch of femininity.

DAY 5

Once again, I had paired a dress but a trench dress with a pair of jeans. I loved wearing this trendy look with a bell sleeves crochet top. A white bra was my savior but it wasn’t so much in your face because coverage from the dress. Now if you could only see what shoes I finished off the look with. (Sighs)

DAY 6

Polka dots are fun, quirky and one of my favorite prints to wear. I paired it with those DIY denim jeans I love so much, some red booties for a pop of color and a good ol’ fedora hat. If you notice, my shades pretty much match my top.

I wore this fun pinstriped vest with brush stroke pants toward the end of NYFW. Layered it with a match royal blue blazer and clutch. I paired it with my trusty loafers and shades and I was set along with my emoji friend here.
