When Royal Blue Loves Your Stripes

Happy belated Labor Day! I know, I know. I am late but it’s OK. You’ll live. I guess you can say this is my post Labor Day look. If its one thing…no two things I love are, a good set of stripes and the shade royal blue. Both elements are reliable aesthetics you can never go wrong on and they always look clean and chic. Stripes are mostly uniform so its easy to play around with the pattern. Royal blue is just one of those colors that adds a pop to your outfit. Liven up your look and give it’s a rich, sophisticated tone to the ensemble.

There are a few things I like about this dress. One, it is a maxi. Two, the horizontal stripes are not very wide and three, the two risqué slits on both sides of the dress. Yes, when I am in the mood, I like to showcase my legs and show you what I’m working with. The piece that I used to layer the dress is actually a silk button down shirt. I prefer to wear it like this because I honestly hate the way it looks when I buttoned it up. Don’t you like the “punch” the blue gives against the black and white stripes? Righhhtt? So I added a neutral toned cross-body bag and a pair of white kicks to align with the color palette of the dress. To top it all off, I threw on a statement necklace for a bit of sparkle and some extra dainty accessories.
